Grey Sail Brewing of Rhode Island, Captain’s Daughter Double IPA, Westerly, RI
8.5% abv. 69 IBUs. Loaded with Mosaic and Citra hops. About 2 weeks old. Pours a murky, but delicious looking yellow gold color. Grapefruit, sweet lemon ball candy, floral, and pine resin aromas. First sip backs a full range of hoppy flavors including grapefruit, pineapple, mango, and orange zest. High alcohol delivers a mild white pepper flavor with a warming in the belly about halfway through. Flavors bounce all around the mouth and linger for a very long time. Noticing clementine, peach, and apricot flavors toward the end of the glass. This is a very enjoyable DIPA and one you should absolutely grab if you see it.
